Since arriving in Michigan in 2003, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing your journey—one of grit, transformation, and tenacity. I became a Michigander during what many called the “Lost Decade,” when uncertainty and hardship seemed woven into our state’s identity. Those years weren’t easy. As the auto industry stumbled and cities across Michigan felt the strain, it often seemed like no one was willing to bet on you — our Capital City.

Desmond Ferguson grew up in Lansing at the height of the downtown Lansing Gus Macker 3-on-3 tournaments in the early to mid-90s. He’d love to bring that vibe back to Lansing again.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– The farmers market is back on the Capitol lawn!

Community members can shop locally with 60 Michigan farmers and vendors and enjoy music performances from the Lansing Symphony Orchestra.

“We are beyond excited to be celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the Farmers Markets at the Capitol this year,” says MIFMA Executive Director Amanda Shreve in a news release to 6 News.

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -JJ’s Hot Dog House in Lansing held a hot dog eating contest in downtown Lansing on Friday afternoon.

Contestants had an opportunity to eat as many hot dogs as they could within a ten-minute timeframe.

“I’m talking a lot of trash, but whether I win or lose, I’m getting free lunch basically. So, it’s all good here,” said Shawn Whipple.

Comic Con is coming to Lansing allowing fans to fill want lists, meet their favorite comic book artists and, of course, cosplay like never before.

”Capital City Comic Con isn’t just a vendor hall, there’s a lot of activities going on, too. Join a costume contest, make a craft, paint something, play a game, watch a panel, participate in a workshop,” Comic Con said.
